Going to read a lot less than years past because I don’t want to burn out again. My only “goal” is to read the Malazan Book of the Fallen series in 2019. Anything more than that would be great but not a requirement.

After reading 52 in 2017 I dropped right off in 2018, maybe only read 10-12. Getting back into reading is one of my resolutions this year so I'm here for this. Aiming for 40, will be happy with 30 - likewise want to finish what I've got on my shelf, but also want to take more risks on authors I don't know.

Around the middle of last year, I picked up a local authors book of short comedy stories based in my local area (Glasgow, Scotland). Loved it. It ended up kicking me off into a whirlwind of reading books fueled also by my gf then getting me a kindle. I ended up reading 30 books in half a year-ish. I am going to set this year's goal at 40 to accommodate larger books than I would usually read.

Is there a way on Goodreads to change the goal from books read to pages read?

Currently on my to read list:
    • Catch up on the John Niven back catalog.
    • Open by Andre Agassi
    • Gordon Ferris' 'Douglas Brodie' series
    • 'Becoming' by Michelle Obama

    I do not exist.

You can’t change your 2019 reading goal from number of books. However, if you log into the desktop version and click the stats bit on your profile you’ll see some (in my opinion) cool stats including a comparison of pages read which you can compare per year as you build up. I spend way too much time with those stats, haha!

Glad to have you in this thread. Not been to Glasgow but I want to. I’m in Sheffield but have family north of the border in Moffat and St Andrews.

I've never set a reading goal before, but I want to read more this year. I'm also starting Architecture school, so I'll be doing a lot of reading, but I also want to read for pleasure. My idea is to replace the majority of my TV time with reading. Anyway, we'll see how it goes. My goal for the year is a modest 15.

    1. 'Where'd You Go, Burnadette' by Maria Semple

I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the upcoming movie. It was uniquely written and pretty funny at times. I read it over the course of about two days.
