2018 Goal: read 48 books

my lowest goal since I've started reading, but for 2018 i have A LOT of large / massive books on my shelves that need to be read so it'll take some time to get through those.

smaller 2018 goals:

- finish "The Border" trilogy
- finish "His Dark Materials" trilogy
- finish the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy
- catch up on other series where I have a book or two waiting (i.e. The Wheel of Time #2, The Stormlight Archives #2, The Familiar volume 5, etc.)
- read at least 12 Stephen King books - and going in chronological order (bought like, 45 in 2017, need to get through some of these)
- read at least 20 books that are 700+ pages

most disappointing from 2017:

* King Leopold's Ghost - too dry and hell, felt like the majority of the book wasn't even about King Leopold and what he did
* The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier & Clay - super boring for the first 300ish pages. Joe's story was cool, Sammy's was very much not "amazing" in any way
* A Moveable Feast - blah
* Ready Player One - was okay, nothing spectacular though that's for sure
* 1Q84 - I love Murakami, but this... i don't know what 1,100 pages of nonsense this was

 

my New Year's Resolution is to read at least a book a month and y'all are already making that feel inadequate lol

Welllllll it's not that I don't want to grab a book and change that. It's mainly due to the fact that I can't concentrate on reading anything, which makes it take foooorever for me to finish a book because I end up getting 5 pages in and realizing that I don't remember anything that I read. It's been the story of my life since I was a kid. Ha...
