My friend and I just saw Hurray for the Riff Raff a couple weeks ago. Amazing show, she okis even better live.

Also while we are giving recommendations I suggest everyone check out the new Rosali album Bite Down. There were plenty of moments on this album that gave me Waxahatchee vibes.

I had to give the album some space after burning through it so much before the show last week. Happy to be coming back to it tonight.

 

I’ve held out long enough (one week lol) and I can confidently say I have this in front of St Cloud. That said, if I ranked say the top ten songs from the two albums, St Cloud might have 3 of the top 5 songs but as a whole, this album is ridiculous. Zero skips. So many melodies, lyrics that stick in your skull, just insane level of artistry. Shes operating on an Isbell level right now.

I also loved her recent interviews where she talks about wanting to be like older artists (Petty, Lucinda, etc) - the idea of decades more of new Katie music is so wonderful.

 

I’m much more smitten with this after that Colbert performance. I liked my prior listens but that unlocked it for me.

 

This is a great record. Literally the first seven songs is such an insane run

 

Enjoying it more than Saint Cloud I think.

 

We'll see where I stand in like a year, but I think Oxbow, Arkadelphia, and the titleish track just so good as to give Saint Cloud the edge for me, but just about every song on TB is better than every other song on Saint Cloud. They are two near perfect albums.

 

Saint Cloud is just one of those records for me. Perfect record that hit me at the right time. It’s no knock on her but it would be an impossibility for her to top it in my eyes, it’s one of my favorite records of all time. Tigers Blood is really great though.

 

Exactly where I'm at. Saint Cloud is a moment in time for me, as much as it is a record. Very close to perfection. Tigers Blood is fantastic too though, very very close in quality.

it would be sick if he toured with her, but i know that won’t happen since he’s so busy with wednesday and his solo stuff
