The value of this album is that it’s dense. Every song has layers on layers and the themes of reconciling humanity’s differences (whether that be through making a family, caring for the environment, questioning capitalism, etc) play off each other across songs the more you listen. Reducing the tracklist makes it less interesting.
So It looks like they will be dropping a two song release that totals 40 minutes and 42 seconds tomorrow, featuring collabs with Sam Gendel and Goose. Who is Goose? Join the thread and find out because I literally just talk to myself in there! Goose • forum.chorus.fm
Goose has a series of releases called Ted Tapes—currently three of them—that are comprised of fun studio improvisation. Ted Tapes III dropped last year and I'd guess, even hope, that's what the song is going to be like.
hell yea, with tracks like How Long? that make you happy about the Earth dissolving. the themes are woven in perfectly.
My hunch was right on the Goose track: very Ted Tapes-y style improv for 17 minutes after covering 2021. The jam whips ass.
I listened to this album in full today (plus Houston, Dubai) and it is a fucking MONSTER. So many good songs. Yeah I'd prob lose a few and add the one I mentioned but it is so damn good.
I think I remember Ezra saying that there won't be nearly as long of a wait between albums this time but I might be making that up
didn't make what cut? You wanted an Ezra solo song from the soundtrack to an animated TV show's Christmas special to.... be part of Vampire Weekend's album Father of the Bride?
