ive never listened to their stuff before really but my dad has been getting really into them out of nowhere lmao. i have avoided their stuff my whole life mostly because of morrissey but really digging through the thread he is a complete pariah to the fanbase pretty much. couple that with being pretty steeped in modest mouse the whole last month, maybe i should do this dive lol

listen to their singles comp Louder Than Bombs, it's elite. if you don't like that, you won't like them.

I like Louder Than Bombs considerably less than any of their actual albums. It has some of their best songs but is way too long and inconsistent imo.

I'd say start with The Queen is Dead or the self titled.

I would say hatful of hollow or queen is the move

Hatful is a much better starting point than Louder Than Bombs but I'm so attached to the debut and how it flows that Hatful just feels a bit jumbled to me in comparison. I prefer the album versions over the John Peel Sessions too.

I know a lot of people really love it though so it may just be me. :crylaugh:

  13. Hatful of Hollow is the move 1000%, then the four studio albums in order imo. Circle back to Louder Than Bombs whenever you want to or need a break/another singles comp.

See I love the digressions of Louder Than Bombs. "Half A Person", "Ask", "Asleep"... so good

    It's a space station!

Hatful was my gateway. Strangeways is my favorite studio LP.
