    The Split Chain album was disappointing. It had some moments but overall underwhelming.

    Yeah. I mean six or whatever albums in like 2 years should maybe have been a red flag, but I just kept thinking about guys like Scott Sellers or The Alchemist, who are known for popping out music like they’re on a factory line. The drums always sounded programmed to me, and many of the songs sounded more or less the same, so it really wasn’t unfathomable that someone out there was just banging out some low stakes dream pop for the purpose of working on their production skills, fluffing their resume, and earning some money to upgrade their studio

    I’ll be honest, none of the albums really stuck with me at all outside of Contentment, but my head is definitely still spinning. Not just that this is the first time I have unknowingly heard AI generated music, but that I actually like(d) it. My moral stance on AI generated art remains unchanged but this just really, really bums me out even more now for the future.
