I'm back motherfuckers. happy to report Maxxxine and Longlegs both kicked ass. great week to be a horror fan

 

It might've just been because it was the first time in a long time I had an old friend over to get stoned to the bone and watch a scary movie, but we loved Dr. Giggles. I wish I would've discovered it a long time ago. Has a lot of the same early '90s vibes I love in stuff People Under the Stairs and Pumpkinhead II.

 

You should watch The Dentist! Similar vibes, even better imo. The Dentist 2 is a lot of fun, too.

watching Pontypool

 

doubt I’ll get to it tonight but I’m gonna finally watch Frailty next

 

Pontypool is so good. if you only told me a lost X-Files script got made into a 2000s horror I would 100% guess it was Pontypool and not Final Destination lmao

 

I have absolutely no idea what The Last Drive-In is showing tomorrow. Apparently the next three movies are "indie classics" and tomorrow's pick "inspired thousands of words of commentary, most of them wrong" and then they say "take a deep dive with us, deeper than the Marianas Trench" so like...The Abyss? That's not really horror, but it would be cool. Leviathan? DeepStar Six? Underwater?

Mario Bava's Bay of Blood, maybe? Have not seen that one, so planning on watching that and Arcadian this weekend anyways.

 

Also, Scream-heads should absolutely seek out Happy Birthday to Me from 1981. That thing takes some absolutely crazy swings with its reveal for an early-80s slasher. And come join our Horror Flick of the Week Club while you're at it!
