I forgot how much I loved Mirrors are more fun than television, so I thank this song for bringing that back
UK/EU vinyl pre-order is up along with the track list. Half re-recorded Thirty Years War songs and half new songs: 1. A Tribute to Orville Wilcox 2. Chain Wallet, Nike Shoes 3. The Tears of Green Eyed Angels 4. Mirrors Are More Fun than Television 5. The Day the Strength of Men Failed 6. Knife Fight at the Mormon Church 7. Counting Sheep 8. Roundhouse 9. Borborygmi 10. We Are the Future
Never fully embraced OK but will always be into hearing new Troy shit Edit: oh wow, and apparently 30 Years shit too!! Yeah this is gonna be sick
excited for this! wish i was familiar to the 30 years war stuff before so i'd understand the differences between the old and new versions, but this is gonna be cool either way! they mentioned this finished recording in 2019 and it is the last album with the original lineup, so sadly it doesn't sound like Tim will be returning to the band.
interesting concept of re doing the early stuff and coupling it with some new stuff. interested to see the dynamic between the songwriting.
Haven't listened to these guys in forever. Met them all (although with Frank Ene instead of Tim Ward) back in 2008.
I’m a few songs in and dig it. I might pick up the vinyl. My only real complain is that I feel like the bass is not prominent enough (like it’s buried or something?) considering that, from my understanding, Tim played on this.
Also the album is very good! Hadn't listened to those old Thirty Years War tracks in likely over a decade.
I’m really happy with this, the new version of The Tears of Green-Eyed Angels is so good. Counting Sheep and We Are the Future are my favorites of the new songs. Thomas’ voice sounds a lot less strained than it did on OK.
haven't enjoyed these guys since like '07 but this album is extremely solid, I'm impressed the vocal delivery on "Mirrors Are More Fun" is... something though
