El Shirota is my new favorite thing. Don't care if I'm late to the party. RIYL early Weezer, early Blink, Built to Spill but Mexican
They should do a version of that pop punk festival in Vegas but for actual emo. Like with say American Football, Cursive, The Anniversary, Rainer Maria, The Promise Ring, The Get Up Kids, Mineral, Death Cab, Pedro the Lion, Braid, Cap’n Jazz, Jawbreaker etc. headlining (not all of them obviously but any handful) with mid tier acts like The Hotelier, Joyce Manor, Jeff Rosenstock, Hop Along, Tigers Jaw, Snowing, Merchant Ships, Midwest Pen Pals, Empire Empire, The Brave Little Abacus, Julien Baker, CSTVT, Alex G, The World Is, etc. and include like smaller indie punk/emo acts that have been around a while like Speedy Ortiz, Diet Cig, Gabby’s World, Bellows, Slaughter Beach, Dog, Ratboys, Remember Sports, Charly Bliss, Dowsing, etc. and since who knows if this type of festival would sell with who I mentioned as possible headliners (I think so but if not), get Fugazi, Rites of Spring, and/or Sunny Day Real Estate to reunite and headline There are so many ways it could go, from getting the broken up emo bands from the 90s to reunite to getting the broken up bands from the 00s/10s to play to the indie rock/indie punk side of emo to the more straightforward emo acts
New Lame-O signing. Americana-ish punky stuff for fans of The Menzingers, The Hold Steady, Tom Petty.
Big Nothing is great, everyone should check out their album Chris from 2019. Was in my top 20 of the year that year.
I’ve listened to this song like 6-7 times a day since it came out lol. Wasn’t into her debut at all but this is just so so pleasant
