that record rules listened to the Same record from last year. haven't really been too into this genre lately but that one is stellar. didn't really see too many year-end lists here in this thread.
tbh I had trouble deciding what belonged in this thread for a list. here are the favorites from my top 50 that we talked about here I'm Glad It's You — Every Sun, Every Moon Ratboys — Printer's Devil Empty Country — Empty Country Gulfer — Gulfer Record Setter — I Owe You Nothing Stay Inside — Viewing The Goalie's Anxiety of the Penalty Kick — Ways of Hearing Dogleg — Melee Barely Civil — I'll Figure This Out Thanya Iyer — KIND Oceanator — Things I Never Said Infant Island — Beneath Sinai Vessel — Ground Aswim Young Jesus — Welcome to Conceptual Beach I Love Your Lifestyle — No Driver bedbug — Live Like Moving Pictures addy — Eclipse Weave — The Sound II SAME — Plastic Western Snarls — Burst Diet Cig — Do You Wonder About Me? Dikembe — Muck No Thank You — Embroidered Foliage Joan of Arc — Tim Melina Theo Bobby The Big Easy — A Long Year Thank You, I'm Sorry — I'm Glad We're Friends Oldsoul — You Are Overwhelmed As A Sketch Pad — As A Sketch Pad Del Paxton — September, Bedtime, Ontario Crisman — Crisman Riverby — Smart Mouth Joshua Virtue — Jackie's House 2nd Grade — Hit to Hit
I really need to spend more time with I'm Glad It's You. I liked it, but never really came back to it.
its not my fav record ever, but the Floral Tattoo album stayed with me all 2020 which is wild considering it came out last January
I don't remember if I posted my year end list here or not, but Hannah by Lomelda was easily my favorite emo record of the year. It kept fucking me up more and more on repeated listens.
this guys super prolific and has a new album coming out in march, and this is the last single. sorta reminds me of car seat headrest meets turnover meets some other big indie band. its pretty cool
Dunno how many had it on their list but I felt from last year the Retirement Party record was pretty underrated. It was a step up from their debut which I also enjoyed.
this is nice singer songwriter type stuff. ffo I saw was Elliott smith, microphones, sufjan, and duster. and sure, close enough
Old band from MI that's no longer active, RIYL Minus the Bear, Colour Revolt, Margot & the Nuclear So & So's, Spoon
For this thread, my 2020 list is Addy - Eclipse, Same - Plastic Western, and the record below which i think suffered from being released too early. Didn't seem to get too many mentions in publications that i read.
Did anyone pitch Snarls in here last year? If so I missed, but definitely picked it up from the Chorus EOTY List thread.
I have to do this annual detective-level search for them, and absofacto, because I'll recall a song I want to hear but never saved anywhere. It happens in early fall without fail.
There isn't an indie rock/folk thread on here but this is pretty great. I literally just discovered them through watching a livestream. FFO: Phoebe Bridgers, Tomberlin, folky stuff
