I just made a thread for this and Im'ma need as many people as possible to sub to it because this album is gonna be incredible.
with Tom Campesinos! being apart of Perfume Genius and now this, you could make an argument that PG consists of some of the most talented people out there.
A few emo/adjacent records coming out tonight. Some of these aren't straight emo but albums that folks in here probably will enjoy. I know the focus will be on Taylor's album but I want to highlight some other albums out tonight that haven't gotten a ton of attention (on here at least) yet. If I missed any coming out tonight feel free to add them. katie dey - mydata (July 24, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm Liza Anne - Bad Vacation (July 24, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm Courtney Marie Andrews - Old Flowers (July 24, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm
Katie Dey record is gonna be fucking tight and I highly advise everyone to binge her discography before it drops tonight.
super behind on everything but that Hospital Sports album is amazing. reminds me of a cross between late Moving Mountains, early Pinback, and that first album by Wild Pink. listening to the weave album now. also really excellent on first listen.
Forgot to add that the Skullcrusher EP is out tonight too. Gonna be so good. Skullcrusher • forum.chorus.fm
can we just rename this thread "emos with good taste"? it's the only thread i even read / post in on this entire website
Here's a new Joshua Virtue and Malci EP its pretty solid, and it made me very sad because it was recorded pre-quarantine and now I miss my friends :(
Already listened a few times and bought it. I like it more than Jackie's House, which I didn't think was possible. Thank you for turning me on to them! F'real my favorite releases of 2020
Joshua Virtue is sick. I saw them live with @incognitojones band once (need to come see y'all again if the world ever lets shows happen again) and opening for Lala Lala/Nnamdi/Sen Morimoto another time and both times ruled.
I like Jackie's House more still, but he's got a lot more stuff in the works so who knows what your favorite will be. Now I miss my friends and playing shows :(
Not emo blah blah blah (though it has some twinkly bits so, adjacent?) but anyone who digs HUM should give this a listen:
