Irish Eyes and Snake Eyes not getting the love during this thing makes me a bit sad. As both songs are faster paced and mix the poppy and heavy really well, I thought they'd be better received in their discography.

 

Irish eyes has one of my favorite SF choruses, adore that song.

 

As far as I’m concerned Senses Fail is a new band and If there is a Light, It Will Find You is their debut and it’s really good!

Excellent final four, and good tiebreaker.

Bite to break skin. I adore the vocal melodies all over this record, especially in the verses, and when paired with that outro, first breath can’t keep up.

War paint. Had to relisten to both. War paint gets the edge for being unrelenting throughout. The Fire is a worthy finalist but the chorus dips a bit too much to win this matchup. Wish more bands played with their bridges like War Paint does.

First Breath, Last Breath - This was a very tough one for me! I just listened to both songs back-to-back twice and it's extremely close. On one hand, I've known Bite To Break Skin much longer and it's a staple of their catalog and live show. The last 40 or so seconds of the song are the highlight for me. On the other hand, First Breath, Last Breath is one of my favorite songs on the new album and it's one of the most personal songs that Buddy has written to date. It's really hard to compare 2004 Senses Fail with 2018 Senses Fail! I'll go with First Breath, Last Breath primarily due to the lyrics, but I won't be upset in the slightest if Bite To Break Skin wins.

The Fire - This is possibly my favorite song in their catalog (see my post from yesterday!) so this one wasn't quite difficult as the first matchup. Having said that, War Paint is an absolutely fantastic song. Also, these two songs should be played live a lot more often!
