I really like the new single. Reminds me of the great SA track I Could Be President instrumentally. Just a top notch SA song.

 

Really sad Max won't be touring as much or at all but I'm glad he's doing what's best for his mental health. I think I've been to every NY show for the past 5 or so years so I can't really ask for more.

I like the single a lot, really excited for this album. I think I'll finally give his comics a try as well.

Every once in a while, I'll come across a B-side I hadn't heard before that really sticks with me. This one of them.

Slumming It With Johnny reminds me of the Doug theme song and it rules

 

I think I love pretty much every song from the Is/Was a Real Boy era tbh. We Will Erase All Life on Earth but Us and But a Fleeting Illness are also incredible b-sides.

 

Not trying to be negative, because I do like a lot of stuff from later albums. But this band’s early B-sides are almost weezer-esque in that there’s enough quality stuff to make maybe several albums that would probably be better than their later material.

Found this CD copy of the promo CD for Is a Real Boy while cleaning the house. Free to whoever DMs me their address first. Extra points to anyone who is a big collector and needs this.

Mines is in a sleeve which is weird but the old SA CDs make for good collectables .
