Well, I was obviously wrong about this, and I'm really surprised that they're not on the bill. Unless they're a late add, but does Coachella even do that?
LCD Soundsystem's reunion was a headliner at Coachella, and MCR were much much bigger than LCD ever was. If this was gonna be MCR's first real show back in 10 years, they definitely could've been a headliner. If I had to guess they were locked in as a headliner, then RATM reached out in October about wanting to play, MCR got demoted to subheadliner but weren't gonna settle. Then Coachella got Calvin Harris at the last minute. Something tells me MCR is gonna be headlining a bunch of festivals this year like Lollapalooza, Boston Calling, Austin City Limits and Voodoo Fest.
MCR is bigger than LCD but LCD 100% fits the type of Coachella vibe way more than MCR does. Coachella’s headliners also have also gotten bigger each year since LCD was one.
I had always figured they were first name on the second line under the headliner. Was the rumor that they were much lower than that?
The rumors going around is that they weren’t going to be a headliner and instead they where a sub but by them dropping off I feel like they weren’t a sub and much lower but idk
No I get that. I was just being a smart ass after it seemed like some people were all but assuring they were on
