Also listening to Building Nothing Out of Something right now and it's crazy that these are just b-sides or whatever. Insane bunch of tracks.
I think more of those are songs from split singles than explicitly b-sides, but yeah. I put it over most of their albums tbh
Building Nothing is in my top 3. I was blown away when I learned it was just a B-Side comp because it literally sounds like a full, cohesive album
Haven’t listened to building nothing in forever. Gonna change that and if it isn’t in my top 3 afterwards some of you are gonna be hearing from me.
Been a while since I did a deep dive into MM catalog but off the top of my head, this is where I rank the albums. Good News was my first MM album and I remember downloading it because of Float On and Ocean Breaths Salty and being like "This is nothing like what I expected, and I LOVE it!" Bukowski specifically got me into searching for more weird indy music (like "Margot & The Nuclear So & So's" first 3 albums.) We Were Dead was the 2nd album I listened to by them so love that one too. M&A was like the 4th or 5th album of theirs I checked out, and it was like years later, and instantly became #1. Long Drive just bores me, couple songs I like the rest, meh. I acutally like The Golden Casket a lot, just hard to compete with other albums in their catalog. M&A Lonesome Crowded West Good News We Were Dead Building Nothing Out of Something The Golden Casket Strangers Long Drive
LCW M&A WWD Good News Long Drive Strangers Golden Casket Maybe its because I'm an older fan but I just can't see BNOOS as anything other than a compilation of 7" songs but I'd put it after Long Drive if I had to
Finally getting to see "Guilty Cocker Spaniels" live on the Good News tour was one of my favorite parts of going to those shows
New album information and single was released to fan club members today apparently. Not interested in paying $10 to get the information early since it should be out tomorrow regardless.
Apparently the mods in the MM subreddit won’t allow anyone to share info for the new album yet (to respect the wishes of the band that the info only stay in the fan club). The only hint/info that got out is that the new album is “exactly what Issac said it would be named in an interview.” So that’s all we have lol
Album title appears to be An Eraser and a Maze, single is "Picking Dragons' Pockets" I don't know how to spoil artwork but I'll make a thread and update when it's announced tomorrow.
