I saw the entire thing go down on twitter yesterday and didnt think anything would come from it. I’m surprised it took so long for people to dig into his old tweets. Let’s just get Taika in the director’s chair and problem solved. He would do great with the characters. This will get him back with the MCU being that Thor 4 won’t happen.
Thor 4 can definitely still happen. Hemsworth already admitted that he and Taika were throwing around ideas of where they could go with a potential 4th one around New Years. He just wants to do it right. In general, he's continued to show that he doesn't mind coming back to the role.
Thor 4 will happen once Iron Man 4 and Captain America 4 happen. All characters are getting their own trilogy. Marvel won’t disrupt that for a fourth Thor film. While it can happen, Marvel won’t greenlight it. They have Guardians 3, Captain Marvel 2, Black Panther 2, The Eternals, Doctor Strange 2, Spider-Man 3, and Ant-Man 3 to worry about.
I think you're just assuming. They've never said anything about movies being trilogies. Iron Man and Cap are more towards the actors not wanting to continue on as the characters. Feige has even hinted that it might not even be "phases" after they conclude the past in Avengers 4.

Hmm...I mean, I get the fan thing, that's a nice gesture, but otherwise it seems like in really bad taste. The whole "bit" thing holds no water as well. You'd think they'd know going into this kind of environment to be extra careful with stuff like this.
Makes sense. I would like it if Stark dies in A4 and Riri discovers (when the world needs more heroes during a disasterous event) that Stark left suits with her in mind and Rhodes (knowing the dangers of taking Starks place) tries to keep Riri out of it. I just love good drama. An 'Ironheart' Film May Be In Development - MCUExchange
I know I’m late but this isn’t true. Less mid level adult mainstream films are being made now more than ever, and Disney pushes smaller movies out of theaters that have limited screens to rent half a theater for Star Wars. Superhero movies are bad for mainstream “adult” cinema.
That's really not true at all if you've looked at the release calenders of the last ten years compared to the ten years before that.
Is the MCU eating up Deadpool and X-Men after Avengers 4 or is that just speculation atm? I'm assuming whatever universe Venom is in will remain separate?
Venom is a Sony property and is not part of the Fox deal. Deadpool & X-Men will come into the MCU but until it's announced no-one really knows anything.
I think there's been some talk, even from Iger himself, of the Deadpool R-rated world having room to exist as its own brand after Disney acquires Fox. I'm still assuming it won't take long after the deal is 100% done for Marvel Studios to shut down all new Fox Marvel projects started pre-Disney and get ready for MCU reboots. This is half of why I advocate for Sony's standalone films (the other half being a glutton for the world surrounding Spider-Man). But, perhaps they will allow some kind of separate Marvel Knights or MAX type brand, considering how lucrative Deadpool is.
I don't seen them keeping things separate other than to cater for hardcore Marvel fans. I'd like them to but as a company i think Disney like to have their "image" on everything and don't see Deadpool joining the MCU. Punisher MAX though. If only.
Finally rented the first two Thor movies over the weekend because I've really been wanting to watch Ragnarok, but wanted to be familiar with the prequels (watching Ragnarok tonight). All in all, I can definitely get the hate for The Dark World. The damsel in distress trope with Jane was cringey, as well as the "let's kill off a female character to give the main characters motivation to work together" trope with Thor and Loki's mother. It's disappointing knowing that Patty Jenkins was originally set to direct this movie, because it almost certainly would have been better with her involvement. That being said, I found both Thor movies to be more entertaining than Cap 1, but I haven't seen that one in a few years and would have to watch again to be sure what I didn't love about that one. I just remember feeling it was slow moving and unexciting.
Heh it's hard for me to say which was worse. They both have their good moments, and then their really cringey bad moments. The Jane romance felt equally forced in both movies, anyways. I will say I couldn't believe how horrible the CGI was in the first Thor, and the main villain literally looked like Ivan Ooze from The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie in the 90s.
