Good lord, this is an awesome record.

 

I think I can say it's my absolute favorite song. It's just so incredibly well written.

 

Not sure too many lines this year have hit me like "In five years, I hope the songs feel like covers". Just a sledgehammer to the chest.

 

I finally really got into this last week. I wasn’t expecting a song like Timefighter, easily my favorite.

Edit: I shouldn’t say easily because Night Shift exists but man Timefighter is one hell of a song. It’s so sexy for lack of a better word.

 

Yeah this is a front to back wonderful album and the magic hasn’t worn off even a little bit for me yet. Her songwriting is simply next level

The transition from Body to Flame to Timefighter is one of the best moments this year.

"the shell," "nonbeliever," and "timefighter" are just otherworldly songs

 

"the shell" has helped me through a lot this year

 

Dovetails nicely with Restorations’ Nonbeliever as one of the songs of the year.

 

The Shell gives me huge David Bazan vibes which I'm a sucker for. Timefighter is gold.

As the year closes out and people might be wanting to check out things they missed, figured I’d drop this in here. IMO it’s like the album that would happen if you combined Lucy Dacus and Daughter.

How did I let this pass me by until now?

Only decided to give this a chance after enjoying the boy genius EP. Dacus was the one of the three I was least familiar with so have been listening to this for the past week.

Just wow.

One of my favourites of the year. Front half of the album is particularly stacked with very strong songs.

 

Night Shift still might be the best song of the year

 

It's my SOTY without a doubt.

 

echoing a lot of other people in this thread rn but HOLY SHIT i just listened to this and it's so good. idk how i missed it.
i got about three minutes into Pillar of Truth and thought it was ending....... and then it almost killed me? in the best way possible? anyways I will def. be seeing her with illuminati hotties in february. this is front to back a stunner.
