Third album from the one-time Orchid Tapes affiliate, surprise released by Run For Cover. Katie Dey is still looking for a home in this world on Solipsisters waves solipsisting stuck dissolving (at least for now) shell reflection escaping unforming sieve
I remembered to check this out after Will W. retweeted her, and there is so much Baths influence that I had to google to see if he had any part in this album
Wow, I never thought of that buts true. I always heard this as like Bjork making a lo-fi Age of Adz haha
Self-loathing bouncing 'round like neuro pinball Wish I could find someone to see me under a microscope Sure I could look inside myself but I genuinely don't know what my heart is for It's getting hard to tell what the fuck is anything anymore
Honestly think this is one of the most rewarding records of 2019. Seems to only get better with each listen and I’ve still barely dug into the lyrics outside of the bits that are really discernible. Been back on all her stuff lately actually. I was reading James Acaster’s book about how 2016 is the greatest year for music ever and he mentioned Flood Network, which I spent very little time with when it came out. Then that had me going further back to asdfasdf which I doubt I had played since 2015. Everything is so good but the leaps from one album to the next are astonishing.
Did a thread for the new one, hope more folks come around this time lol katie dey - mydata (July 24, 2020) • forum.chorus.fm
