I enjoyed it. I felt like the first 30-40 minutes were choppy and rushed, because they obviously cut out a lot of footage, but the rest of the film, especially after Superman's resurrection was like 9/10 for me. My only major complaints would be the editing for the first 1/3 of the film and CGI.
I really, really liked this movie. A lot. Loved seeing Ezra Miller as The Flash, and can't wait to see more of him playing that role. Movie was just a lot of fun to watch.
Ezra’s flash seems to be polarizing. A lot love him and a lot were annoyed and thought the humor was forced.
I don't know if any of you guys are interested in editing stuff, but this guy always has some good takes. His Suicide Squad video is great.
I liked Ezra, but he had like maybe 3 funny jokes. The rest was really sweaty and desperate. Flash needed way more balance.
‘Justice League’ Powers To $13M Thursday Night – Friday AM Update $13 million last night. Estimated at about $115 for the weekend, which I think is fine.
WB probably doesn't like that number. It will have underperformed in comparison to BvS, MoS, and Suicide Squad. They won't care though because it will destroy in foreign markets.
Yeah that's an OKAY number, the movie isn't bombing or anything. But this SHOULD open higher. It's pretty crazy that IT might have a bigger opening weekend than the first Justice League movie.
My real concern is with Aquaman. Its going to need to be well reviewed in order to be successful. I don't think Wan or Momoa are big enough names to make it must see.
When he realized that That Superman was almost/just as/faster than him after Supes resurrection, his face was great.
I liked him, it was just too much at times. Practically everything he does is humor, didn't need to be. The I don't do battle part was great, I LOVED how he mentioned he's afraid of really tall people (referring to Steppenwolf), and when Batman gets punched or thrown, or something, I forget exactly, by Steppenwolf he just goes "damn, he is tall." Also the not knowing which was is east/west was great too.
Seeing it again at 1:30 today, the parts I am thinking about really excited to see again are: Opening Batman part, where Bill Tensch asks "what do you want?" And Batman replies "fear." Steppenwolf arriving on Themyscira. Holy shit the Amazons are so ripped. I didn't find it sexual at all. I was just in awe of how badass/intimidating they looked. The shot of them swinging the hammer to shut the gate, and that whole chase was fantastic. There is a shot where I think the queen or another Amazon is riding on horseback, and Steppenwolf just appears off frame and slams them down, so great. The Bruce/Diana argument about binging Superman back. How Batman pushes her with mentioning Steve, trying to get her to become the leader he knows she can be, but just being a total dick about it. I love that aspect of Bruce/Batman. Superman vs JL fight, not the ressurection, but the fight after was so fun. As mentioned so far, the Flash realizing Supes is fast, I see people split on Superman saying "Do you bleed?" to Bruce, but I thought that was great. ]The final fight once Superman arrives. "I believe in truth, I'm also a big fan of justice." Also the shot of him flting down on Steppenwolf and the close up of his symbol, so great.
I don't watch superhero movies, typically, but I may be going to the theater tonight, and might have to choose between this and Thor. I've read that in order to follow Thor, you need to have seen the previous Thor films, Dr. Strange, and the Avengers (none of which I've seen) Does the same ring true for Justice League? I saw Man of Steel, but that might be the only DC movie I've seen...
JL has a central plot point revolved around what happens in BvS, other than that, not really. Thor needs less introduction, you'll need to know the current status of Loki and Odin going in to it. All can be easily caught up via Wikipedia if you don't want to see the prior films.
So for those that have seen it... I was watching bits and pieces of this at work....question: does superman not appear in the black suit with the beard like it was suggested he would?
