Really digging the new song. I am in for the new record. Also having the realization that I don't think I ever went through Damage front to back despite owning it. I'm the worst. I will have to change that at some point.
It just felt boring to me. There was nothing about it that really did much of anything for me. I liked the bridge to Closer a lot but that's about it.
Oh man I made an imaginary tracklist for a different version of Static Prevails that is all Jim songs and has all their best 90's emo style songs in one package. Puts the band more in the vein of Mineral. I even added fades and stuff between the songs to make it like a proper album and I prefer to listen to it than Static Prevails itself. I called it Seasonal. Here's the tracklist: 1. H Model 2. Call It in the Air 3. Claire 4. Seasonal 5. Untitled (from Singles) 6. Digits (from Singles) 7. What I Would Say to You Now 8. Speed Read 9. In the Same Room 10. World Is Static 11. Thinking, That's All 12. Ramina 13. You're On and Off (Digits Outro) 14. Anderson Mesa It makes for an awesome album; it's what I wish Static Prevails was.
This looks awesome, I'll have to try it out. I'll post my imaginary SOMST tracklist in here when it's done.
Currently going through Clarity and all that I keep thinking is how much I'd have probably liked this album if I'd have heard it 15 years ago. For now, it's the most underwhelming of the albums I've listened to thus far.
I'm only at 12.23.95, so I've got a ways to go, and I never fully form an opinion on an album on first listen.
Clarity is among my least favorites by them. I still really like it, it just never hit me on am emotional level like their others have. I got into the band between Futures and CTL.
CTL is easily my favourite but BA and Clarity have grown on me a ton. Futures is really inconsistent for me.
What the heck is Goodbye Sky Harbor? I don't dislike it, though I'm not sure if it's overstaying its welcome here. 15 minutes into the song, and still more happening...
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Feeling Lucky as one of the weaker tracks on CTL. It's the only one I sometimes skip from that record. Just doesn't mesh with the feel of the rest of it.
Feeling Lucky is one of the better songs Also, I'm glad @Kevin360 somewhat agrees with me on Clarity haha
