I'm sure it doesn't hurt but idk if I can picture myself doing it. Miraculously I've gotten my jobs without having connections there beforehand and I don't suck up, but am a hard working person that will help anyone out so ppl seem to like me a lot and I get good recommendations. but I dread if I ever have to be a total goober one day to move up the ladder haha.

For the record I don't think a thank you note makes anyone a suck up goober, but am referring to all the cutthroat buttkissing social politics junk I hear of

 

I recently had to withdraw from my old university due to financial reasons, and had to move back in with my parents where I hadn't lived since high school... basically I don't know too many people here anymore and I've been kind of lonely lately. Honestly just coming on here and a couple other places online to talk about music and other stuff has really helped with that, and I felt like since I talk with so many of you regularly that I never interact with outside of this site I'd love to add some of you on social media! Here's my personal FB and Twitter, honestly those are the main platforms I use... just do a favor and shoot me a message with your name if we aren't on a first-name basis on here :)

I'm the office manager at where I work and once we had a candidate make handwritten thank you notes - she sent them to both the person she interviewed with and ME (I have literally no weight in that decision)

I think it's a very nice gesture and it definitely made her "stand out" so to speak - but I just can't ever picture myself in a position where I'm trying that hard lmao

 

I was talking to someone and they accidentally called the Dominican Republic the Banana Republic lmaooooooo

 

I've never heard of that either. The only time I know to send thank you cards is when you get gifts for like graduation or something

Parking lot past times

1). I work at a school and the kinder parent pickup line gets super long and blocks the employee lot. They're supposed to not block the entrance to the lot so employees can still get in, but when we tried to get in they all assumed we were trying to cut in line and blocked the entrance and refused to let us in omgggg. Hate u.

2). I was backing out of my spot at safeway today. A truck turns down the aisle wanting to go through. I'm already almost all the way out so I keep doing my thing and they honk at me. Obv I'm not just chilling here!!! I'm clearly backing out with the intention of moving quickly. Blegh.

Tried to watch a laser eye surgery video and about threw up. How do you cut into someone's eyeball while they are awake?!

 

It's my chosen field : PA for the eye surgeons

wasn't there a movie about a dude who the doctors thought they put him under anesthesia but they actually didn't so he felt everything?

all I remember is I saw clips of that and I was terrified forever of that.

 

That feeling of doing something in work for ages before realising you did it wrong

 

Has anyone here visited, or live in, Vancouver, B.C? We're heading there over Christmas, and I'm looking for things to do outside of the a-typical touristy stuff.

 

I've been to Vancouver. There's a great park. I forget the name, but it is right downtown. I spent most of the time there having sex and that's the only reason I made this post.
