Out of curiosity I just threw it on HBO Go and yeah whatever was going on with the original broadcast was definitely an issue with HBO because it’s much clearer there, even during the storm.

 

Brightness aside, there were some incredibly pretty shots in this episode.

 

The comparison is like I originally watched it on the OG gameboy vs being there live in person

Even the HBO go stream was a little dark. Some of it is obviously a conscious decision, but they could use better lighting or at least enable HDR / 4k streaming which should allow us to see a wider range of colors. Some of the blacks for the episode were really faded and that made everything blend together outside of some obvious scenes with better lighting.

Loved the Arya moment, wish we saw some previous characters come back undead.

Now that my adrenaline rush is fading, I’m starting to mourn the dead characters more. Ugh

 

Really liked the far-away shots of the dragons fighting above the clouds in the moonlight.

 

Lighting redeemed! Honestly I was hoping it was called this.
