Loving that news! FX/FXX is probably the best television network in terms of consistency and quality.
Made a thread, since it's under a year away and probably about to get a bunch of casting news: Movie - The New Mutants (Josh Boone, April 13 2018)
Dark Pheonix news: Fox Formalizes Simon Kinberg To Helm ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix;’ Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy Back Return Jessica Chastain - Simon Kinberg officially confirmed as director - Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Kodi Smit-McPhee returning - Jessica Chastain in talks for Lilandra
Outside of "DOFP" and maybe "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," everything Kinberg has written has been terrible. I don't have very high hopes for this.
Same. The only reason to get excited for me is to see the younger cast do something! The ending of Apocalypse with them all suited up was what I wanted the whole movie to be....
My hope (since this should be the 90s X-Men) is that they will treat her like Morph from the series and use her as character served up to die to add drama/stakes and move the characters forward. That wouldn't make sense in the timeline, but we can fix that in Days of Future Past 2.
I'm excited for Fassbender and the younger cast to return as well as Jessica Chastain playing Lilandra of the Shi'ar Empire. No Peters has me concerned that they killed Quicksilver off between Apocalypse and this film. That would be incredibly stupid.
It's JLaw a draw for these things? I don't mind her being in it, but I don't think she should be central. I would hope Sophie gets top billing.
