What would I have to do exactly before I say yes

 

Haha, you'd just be reading the posts each of us make about our dishes and then filling out a score card.

Then you have to pay for plane tickets and accommodations to taste everyone's dishes at their houses.

 

I think you would do the 4 random ingredients on chopped, but just have one dish that everyone presents. It can reset after a week that way everyone participates who wants to.

Okay, so I'll put together like a rough draft of the things that contestants will be judged on and we can tweak it.

Perhaps one of you judges can kinda gather everyone together and discuss possible ingredients. Anybody can participate in that as long as they aren't competing that week. I guess we could make a new thread and just work on the honor system. If you are a contestant you don't visit the thread the week you are competing.

I think the main reason I had cold feet was bc I'm like the least qualified judge of food. I started thinking about it though and @Colby Searcy and I love buttered poptarts to the max and that's not a very common thing whereas the basket ingredients aren't common things either so what the hell.

i like the four ingredients a week, no eliminations strategy.

 

Okay so I'm trying to narrow down what to judge on.

So far I have:

Plating/Appearance
Cooking Technique
Use of Secret Ingredients
Presentation (Food Blog)
Intangibles/Reviewer's Tilt

 

So there's 8 competitors as of now. Are we going to do it like a single elimination tournament or everyone cooks and 1 person goes?

 

I think just presentation/plating, originality, use of basket items/secret ingredients, and online description/presentation

 

So, it looks like we'll just let anybody participate each week either as a judge or contestant. We should choose a day that the ingredients are revealed and then you have a week to prepare your presentation. The judges will vote. And we'll just do like a ranking or something?

You could go through this whole process of voting, posting, cooking, etc. or you could just get the same result by announcing that I am the winner now.
