And for the forums themselves. Notifications bother me, I always have to have them cleared, so having those blue dots on the side for forums or threads that I don't ever read has kind of bothered me.
@Jason Tate I know you have a ton on your plate, and this has probably been brought up, but any chance of a "top of the page" button at some point for desktop?
I asked in another thread, but is there a "all posts by user" for threads? Sometimes I want to find a certain post from me, but don't want to dig through pages of threads to find it
I realize the site is brand new and this is probably coming, but alternate display options for subscribers and non-subscribers would be cool. Alternate background colors, font colors, etc...maybe a "classic mode" that resembles the ol' AP color scheme...
Already able to do so When you click on the articles on the main page, there are twitter and Facebook buttons next to the title. See screenshot below. Click on Facebook, log-in if you have to, and share it.
Yes, I meant in addition to that! When I said "for subscribers and non-subscribers" I guess I actually meant supporters and non-supporters. Contemplating becoming a supporter, Dark Mode does look very cool. Do you have any plans for users to be able to sign in on the main page so that themes like Dark Mode carry over to the regular Chorus.fm site?
I already told you as much on Twitter, but these are so great. Social share buttons can take up so much room. Already rethinking some things for current projects after seeing these.
Thanks. I'm a fan as well. Possibly. But that would take some work because of how I'm doing the main site (nerd tech aside: I'm serving static cached files and never hitting the database at all, so it doesn't get any preferences, it serves the samething to every user, so adding a color option would need make changes there), but if is something I'm thinking about. Also thinking about other colors in the future. But not for a while. Lots of work. Hah.
Ahh, yeah, sorry, didn't know you were talking about mobile. Depending on your phone's size the share buttons are in the actual article itself up at the top (click "read more," or the date, or on any post that's not a link [arrow on the left, which i need to darken more], clicking the headline itself). That should have the share options. Since so many share options are built into the iPhone itself (bottom of Safari, blue square with arrow up), I hide those on really small devices to save some screen real estate. I've never had them on the homepage on mobile before because of how much room they would take up and I want to save that for the content itself. One work around long pressing on the link to the article and copying the URL, then using the share sheet from Safari to share. An app like linky is pretty great as well. Hope this helps!
