Checked out a comic book store that I didn’t know existed like 10 minutes from my house tonight. Spent too much money.
lol ain’t that how it goes sometimes. If you didn’t know, we have a comics thread: Comic Books • forum.chorus.fm
He's probably doing the smart thing and taking a break from how exhausting this place can be sometimes.
I mean, probably not as an isolated incident, but as an example of things that annoy him more than a website that’s supposed to be fun / relaxing should, and make him feel like he needs a break Idk I can relate I just took a break in Jan / first half of Feb lol. And probably won’t return to how much I was posting before
It gives me great joy when I see lists like this, and they exclude "On The Waterfront", a film that is considered a classic despite being a mind-numbing bore
On the Waterfront is a lot more interesting than Casablanca. Part of it is the backstory of why Kazan made it, though.
The backstory for Casablanca is pretty damn cool too. Imagine them making that and releasing it during WW2 with actual refugees in minor roles. And the whole thing being a metaphor for America’s abstaining is a bold political statement. I did not connect with the romance but as a historical document, it’s pretty sick have not seen On the Waterfront yet
Eric Heisserer (Arrival) wrote a pretty great adaptation like 8 years ago that apparently never got any traction.
