Another almost casting I just learned: John Lithgow was originally the Cheers producers first choice to play Frasier Crane, but turned down the role.

 

It is a brand new sitcom. It is a sequel series. Entirely new main cast except the main character.

I listened to the full Cheers theme song and actually paid attention to the lyrics for the first time.

Wait so this 40 year old classic theme song is about a woman who is depressed and wants to get wasted with their friends after finding out her partner is trans? wtf?

Clooney's The Boys in the Boat looks like the single most conventional run of the mill inspirational feel good sports movie ever made.

 

Just caught an AMC screening of Under the Skin. Surprisingly full theater at 10pm. After the movie a guy asked me what the fuck he just watched and told me he thought it was a new ScarJo movie and that he saw it cause she’s hot. Wonder how many people in there hadn’t seen it and left just as confused.

I am always amazed how many people go see movies with no idea what they are walking into. I remember a parent storming out with his daughter and her friends three minutes into Spring Breakers because all they knew was the Disney stars on the poster.

 

Shit that alone is worth the price of admission

Cloon dog really should just take his Casamigos money and run. Or just act. “Good Night and Good Luck” was clearly a fluke that was good because David Strathairn is a great actor.

 

Clooney has historically overdone the whole defensive “yeah, Batman & Robin sucked” schtick. Of course he’s also a boring filmmaker.
