Just finished season five of my rewatch of Steven Universe, now all that's left is to rewatch the movie and then watch Future for the first time. I love that the show gave itself time to breathe, to let Steven grow up, and the audience along with him (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power and Avatar: the Legend of Korra are also great, but they're just so rushed compared to Steven Universe and Adventure Time). Season five is definitely top tier television, from start to finish, with all the stuff that happens on Homeworld, and all the stuff we learn about Steven's past, and how those revelations affect everyone around him. As incredible as Change Your Mind is, I feel like it resolved things a little too quickly, so I'm really looking forward to Future.

The show's message of love and acceptance was always so endearing, but it resonates for me even more strongly now watching it as a trans woman. I'm so grateful kids these days have shows with queer representation like this.
