I mean, I'll probably watch it, but yeah that CGI is abysmal

I always thought half the charm of Rugrats was its weird, gritty animation. This sucks.

With reboots of kid shows, I always wonder how much of the viewership is actual children and how much is just adults feeling nostalgic

Wait, that’s the animation y’all are so repulsed by? It looks mostly fine, lol; certainly better than I would’ve expected “CGI Rugrats” to look.

I didn’t even like Rugrats when I was the target demographic, & I don’t have kids, so I won’t watch any of it. But, I can’t imagine having a stronger reaction than “yeah, sure, that looks like a cynically rebooted kids show some kids might like I guess.”

I think it looks way worse than the original but I think that about pretty much any show that switches from 2D to 3D. I wouldn't watch the reboot either way so I don't really care.

Well like Animaniacs its definitely 100% nostalgia but I'm sure the thought is parents would watch it wirh their kids and hopefully the kids would like it too

The new looney tunes reboot is solid as well and they didn’t go cgi

Thinking back on The Wire now, Prezbo going from a dipshit cop who racially profiled and killed a black officer to an inner-city middle school teacher is maybe not the best look

Test Pattern is a strong companion piece to Never Rarely Sometimes Always. Similarly about how the structures meant to help women are systemically broken and largely complicate or ignore the attempts of survivors to move forward. The cinematic language is powerful and its relatively short runtime packs a meaningful punch when the film ends. Very strong debut from Shatara Michelle Ford.

There’s like a 10 minute clip on YouTube of interviewers just asking Jonah about being fat/ugly/smelly etc. it’s fucked. Jonah and his tattoos rule.
