Thanks! I've definitely been buying too much, but so many things catch my eye and I too quickly hit purchase.
Despite a few big box sets, September was a far quieter month but as per usual none of them have disappointed But the two big purchases that were new releases for September as far as I am concerned are the following -
I almost pulled the trigger on that Cold War Creatures set but couldn't end up doing it. Might still grab it down the line. The movies look like they could be a lot of fun or just really bad.
That entirely hinges on whether you enjoy cheap B-movies from the 50s, I do so despite their flaws I was entertained throughout and even though The Giant Claw is regarded as one of the worst of its type I don't quite agree on that.
Thanks! I was all over the place with my purchases. I also tried to take it easy in September. It didn't work. Let's see how October goes haha.
That's a spicy haul and also reminds me that 1. I gotta post my haul and 2. I need to get on ordering Halloween 2 & 3 on 4K
More great choices there, wish I could get The Night House and Ticks on Blu-ray. Did you like Snake Eyes? No one else seemingly did other than me
I'm really excited to check out the Night House, it's first on my list this week when I have some time away from work. Also that Ticks disc is 4K so it's region free! Worth a grab. I also did like Snake Eyes, it's not a perfect movie but it's a good time. I actually dug the story and the characters quite a bit, hoping for more in the future from them. I just wish they used a little less of the shaky cam action to let the martial arts shine a bit more, especially since they had Iko Uwais and they didn't give him any truly great action sequences.
I've barely bought anything new in November/December because of Christmas and crazy busy times all around, but I've already got my first January purchase coming in the mail and lots of preorders so this'll be a good month.
I hope this year is as good as 2021 for releases, there were so many great ones but just the fact The Hitcher is getting a 4K release will make this at worst a good year.
Yeah if this year is half as good as last year my wallet will hurt either way, but that 4K release of The Hitcher is very exciting. I feel like there's already a handful of things announced or hinted at that have me pumped.
I only know of The Hitcher and Phenomena getting 4K versions in terms of new releases, not heard of anything else but I'm sure there will be plenty to choose from. Do hope more of the Columbia Noir box sets are released, did have three last year so I hope we at least get one or two more.
Quite a substantial start to the year, with the most expensive of that lot being the limited edition 4K version of Get Out which comes with a load of physical extras.
