I don't think anyone in the band has advertised this yet (or they did but it was deleted?) But Self Titled instrumental album is available to buy & stream now!
Yeah they did, but I guess they deleted the tweet a little while ago bc hot water on wool (reprise) was playing over the original simultaneously which they didn’t realize before lol
Lmfaooo, just realised I F*****G BOUGHT THE BROKEN VERSION BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T REMOVE IT FROM THE DAMN ITUNES STORE BEFORE FIXING IT. Can't listen to my 2nd fav song on the album and the best intro then lol
Lol wait, so did they “fix” it? Either way that’s hilarious that no one noticed until release EDIT: Just checked Apple Music, it’s still messed up on there. That’s too funny
In the middle of a discography run. As time goes by, I love Downtown Battle Mountain II more and more. The urgency, Jon taking the lead with his insane performance, Jonny's phoning it in with his ASMR vocals, the mix of Happiness-y groove with S/T's riffing tendencies, the total behind the scenes mess surrounding that era... this is such a trip. Probably my fourth or even third favorite album.
Can’t believe how much I used to hate on that record vs how much I genuinely enjoy it today. The guitar work on it is some of my favorite.
DBMII is a ripper and I'm glad people are coming around to it Its probably my 3/4th most listened to DGD record behind AS1 and Happiness
Couldn’t even rank their albums if I tried at this point tbh. Happiness is probably always gonna reign supreme overall, but everything else just kinda trades places depending on my mood and whatnot.
I was NOT ranking hahah I couldn't either, they are all very different to me now, except for MS and AS, which start to blend a bit
DBMII has bops for days, but the production & mixing sounds ridiculously dated, even compared to other PHC/Metalcore records of the era.
Wow they were really firing on all cylinders with Mothership right? My only gripe is it kind of blends together and it's slightly too long, but it has so many career highlights. Nervous to check out Artificial Selection as I haven't heard it since its release. Petting Zoo Justice is basically a Rolo Tomassi song and I'm obsessed with it at the moment.
Mothership actually feels like one of their more diverse records to me but I’ve seen that criticism before. I gave both mothership and ArSe a run through last night and ArSe held up better than I remembered, more consistent than I thought.
Love the Rolo Tomassi namedrop, need to listen to the song again now and I’m one of those that thinks it blends together. Not for the sake of the songs sounding similar per se, but the screaming/singing formula really wears itself thin on a 14 track album. If they did some things very differently to make the flow of the album more palpable I would probably love it more. It definitely does have a lot of career highlights, and I’d say it’s their “best” record, though it’s not nearly my favorite
