I didn't like Artificial Selection that much but this one off single pleases me a lot. I guess I have no idea what I want from them at this point.

The riff under that Jon part is so fucking good man, great use of effects again from Will. Whole song is enjoyable but only a 7/10 for me if I had to rate it

 

I like it a lot, I had to listen to it a couple times because the video was distracting me from the song. It definitely sounds more like mothership than arse, and the cover art for this single is very them

It's not a big deal, and they did some of that on AS1 too, which is my fav record by far

 

Eh, in my experence a lot of things that sound too bouncy to not be autotuned are just results of vocal anomalies due to the impact recording several consecutive takes has on your voice.

Regardless all music at this level of production has probably been polished by a little pitch editing software, but that's different from a pitch correction plug-in like AutoTune.

How I feel. Tho AS2 had some bonafide great DGD moments.

I’m diving some Strawberry Girls for their current tour with Veil of Maya and Intervals.

 

Relistening to “Acceptance Speech” for the first time in a while, and it really is *shocking* how much of Jon’s lyrics on here are actually meaningful and emotionally impactful. They still retain some of the “absurdism”, while having actual thematic weight and sometimes even tying into Tilian lyrics! This is great! Why has he never done this since??

No idea but they need to release the remasters of it.
