Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Still not the best Tony Hawk game, but oh man, what a game. Super Mario Sunshine Super Mario 64 has better game design and is possibly the greatest game ever made, but Sunshine holds a special place in my heart. Resident Evil 4 I've finished NieR recently and enjoyed it. However, while I acknowledge that I have been unfair to the game in the past, I still think the hype is way over the top. That game could have used a lot of trimming. RE4 is near perfect, even if the shooting feels dated now. -
THPS3 Super Mario 64 n/a Symphony of the Night i can't say why, because i truly don't know, but Goldeneye wasn't really a part of my childhood. it's peculiar. i practically lived at my best friend's house, who had an N64 and a Bond-obsessed older brother we idolized, but i just don't remember really playing it. THPS3 is maybe my favorite THPS. i'm gonna play some today. Mario Sunshine is a very good, very cool game. it is a product of maybe the most interesting era of Nintendo when they were innovating on their own formulas a few years before people were calling on them to. i love Sunshine. but Mario 64 is an accomplishment on nearly every level, is still fun, and i think Mario has a perfect verb set in that game. the back half gets to be a slog but i will never tire of getting the first 50 stars or so. never played either :( i'm playing SotN for the first time right now. it's aged like the finest wine. inventory is a mess, but everything else is fucking perfect. the Relic system was so ahead of it's time, functioning like a cheat code menu of sorts, it is a densely packed map loaded with things to find and i am now gonna play every good Castlevania available. i went into Halo 3 in the last post. fond memories but didn't stick with me.
THPS3 Mario Sunshine NieR Automata Castlevania Mario Sunshine was so much fun and such a wild change and risk after 64. Love it so much NieR is just an all around incredible game, one I think about often still and plan to replay again soon. RE4 doesn’t hold up as much as I wish it did. Went to replay it this year and had a hard time getting into it again
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Super Mario 64 NieR: Automata Castlevania: Symphony of the Night hurts to go against Resident Evil 4 but Nier is next level.
THPS 3 Super Mario 64 Residend Evil 4 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Please just let Castlevania win.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 (57) - Probably my favorite of the original 4 THPS games. I spent so much time with this one. Super Mario 64 (89) - I love Sunshine a lot but I gotta go with the classic on this one. NieR: Automata (73) - In a battle of games I’ve never finished, I’m going with the one that does more unique and interesting things. Castlevania:Symphony of the Night (24) - Halo can’t compete with the reason why there’s a “-vania” in the word “Metroidvania.”
you really just want to play Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia also Bloodstained, of course
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Super Mario Sunshine Resident Evil 4 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Having recently watched Giant Bomb's Steal my Sunshine feature, there is a looot of bullshit in Super Mario Sunshine. Even still, it has an atmosphere that no other mario game has and I think that puts it above 64 for me.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Super Mario Sunshine Resident Evil 4 Castlevania: Symphony of the Night Interesting matchups in this one. I don’t love Mario 64 as much as most people, I think probably because I didn’t play it around it’s release and every 3D Mario after it has felt better to me. RE4 is still the best game of all time, so
GoldenEye (RIP my love) Sunshine Resident Evil Halo So many fond memories of four player split screen online matches of Halo 3 in college. Good times.
I've been adding the top ones i havent played to a list, it's near the top. But it's not NIER the top
