I love Dan. I also heard from a few artists that release dates are so far away because they want to be able to release hardcopies with the album, which will take longer because vinyl pressing is backed up due to covid stuff.
I was thinking it’d be out before the end of the year. Oh well, still coming out. I’ve enjoyed the songs so far
What a cool little song. This is vintage, peak Dan-cheese in all the best ways. The melody/hook isn't super strong but just love the lyrics haha. Also the video made me feel bad for Darkness haha
I'm always excited for new music from Dan. It wouldn't surprise me if some labels start to either offer fewer vinyl variants, or stop offering vinyl altogether.
When I said BR/Alk3 should do a split for their tour before it all got delayed and such, this I the kind of thing I wanted on the Alk3 side.
I can't imagine BR fans were happy at that show. The tour was amazing, I had a fucking blast, but by the time BR came on it felt like Trio were just the openers judging by the crowd reaction
I filmed this!! That was so fun to watch and film lol I was at the show. There were a lot of BR fans that were upset apparently and didn't end up showing up so basically it was mainly Trio fans at the show and honestly, I was there more for Trio than BR as much as I love both. I was stoked we got an extended set. They played "Queen of Pain" and that's such a rarity. We wouldn't have gotten that had BR stayed on the bill, so with Trio being in my top 5 favorite bands, I was happy with the show. Still though, I wish everyone in BR a safe recovery and that everyone in their camp is okay.
I wish I would've caught this tour. Bad Religion is practically the AC/DC of punk rock. True pro's at what they do.
This is a good tour combo in my mind, with BR sort of the headliner unless there are a few cities that want to change it up for.
I was fucking amazed at how good BR still is live. They come out looking old as hell and then just fucking kill it like they're 30 years younger
You should watch their Decades shows the did during lockdown. It’s amazing that Greg’s voice is still as a good as ever, it’s helps Brian and I believe Jay are sober (and Brian is an amazing guitar play), and Jamie just brings something special on the drums. The band put priority on sounding good live with replacing long time friend Heyson with Mike. I’m sure that was tough decision.
It was such a fun way to have them celebrate 40 Years and separate things out by decade. They could fill out a bit more interview footage and easily turn those into a collection like that. They still even have enough songs to do a part III if they really wanted.
They have to do something with them. They put in a lot of time and effort to execute those episodes just to have a one-off viewing like that. They probably made a shitload from the ticket/bundle sales too. But even just a digital release would suffice with hardcopies of some sort down the line.
Bunch of represses up in their store if anyone needs anything. Edit: Infirmary, good mourning, crimson, and agony sold out already. https://kingsroadmerch.com/alkaline-trio/
i hope these are currently in stock. ordered the crimson live album. such a banger from front to back.
Pretty sure that one was in stock, but am not certain. I know for sure the studio albums with a gold variant are the represses. Seems like the ones I mentioned earlier sold out quickly.
The entire tracklist for Dan's album is on itunes. I think we're getting a song from his daughter on it. 1. Sea Level 2. Wrong 3. The Rest of You 4. Dear Darkness 5. Into your Dream (The Sophie Moon) 6. Narcissus, Amateur Classic Narcissist 7. It's a Trap Door 8. You Must Be Cold 9. The Excess 10. One Minute Wasted Sophie Moon is his kid's name so I wonder if she wrote it/is singing it/etc.
