I have a lady friend who is super excited. Probably going to multiple shows. Her story isn’t mine to tell, but I understand where she’s coming from. She does not ignore what he did or deny it or anything.

your gender or sexual orientation, as far as i am concerned, does not change how i would interact with you if you are trying to defend supporting a man who engaged in grooming behaviors and sex with literal children.

    if that helps

My male friend is excited and plans on going to the Philly show. I told him that he sucks for it. So yeah, I'd be disappointed regardless of who the person is.

I wonder if this site is misogynistic or if the pedophile in the band that abuses girls is

  6. I would ask them the same question and them being a woman or LGBTQIA+ does not prevent them from having bad opinions or making bad decisions on supporting a groomer.

I love how it's always a round about way to put the blame on anyone but the groomer. It's not him, it's the people with morals that are the problem. You're not disguising yourselves like you think you are.

  9. As a non-binary person, identity politics does not come into this. If you support a paedophile, I don't care what you are or how you identify, have a fucking word with yourself????

I do want to make sure we are all smart enough to know that there are some casual fans who absolutely don't know about anything that went down with the band. I think we can assume everyone on this site, and everyone on reddit, absolutely knows... but there's a large group of people who have no idea, likely the more casual fans or just scene kids who don't keep up with anything music-wise etc etc. Not giving them passes, because it's good to, ya know, know about who you go give money to, but I know that there are a lot of people who simply don't know.

  11. I dunno, it really does feel like people here, in the majority, are pretty nice and try and talk in good faith up until someone shows their ass or becomes actively hostile/trying to pick a fight/doing whataboutism or whatever. Like, the reason they get "spoken to badly" isn't in a vacuum. I feel like that context gets removed too often. Like someone will mention being banned "for their opinions" but never actually want to say what those opinions were.

  12. Probably exactly why they made everyone turn off comments on every single announcement post. :crylaugh:

I haven't kept up today, but that sounds absolutely why... YIKES. You're right, because even a single comment talking about it would be voted up to the top, and a TON of people would learn for the first time

Yeah, not that awful behavior is anything new. But I feel like it’s newer (for me) that my friends who are parents have to bring that up with their kids.

Our parents never sat us down and talked about what a piece of shit John Lennon was. We just listened to The Beatles because it was The Beatles. We knew Michael Jackson was “a little weird”, but we still bought his albums.

I feel like parents are gonna have to confront it, as more artists are revealed as creeps, abusers or rapists, or their kids are gonna be those freaks that have files of evidence that their favorites aren’t actually bad people.

I think I used to give people the benefit of the doubt too for the reasons you listed but in the year of our Lord 2025 everyone has literally a digital computer in their pocket and a wealth of knowledge at their fingertips. People here have said they haven't seen articles about the reunion and then we shows etc but I've seen quite a few in my feed and they all have mentioned why the band broke up earlier than planned and Jesse's statement. Some sites have even included tweets or w/e of people both calling out the band and stating their disappointment in the news and fans celebrating the news.

People just don't care. Just like with a certain other group of people, they get giddy at the joy of pissing off people who criticize and will always be the first ones to be like HaHa and think they're in some "right".

Unless you're like someone living off the grid or some mormon not believing in electricity and the modern world......if you're aware the band took a hiatus I don't know how you don't know WHY. Maybe you didn't know THEN but the discourse is so prevalent you should know NOW.

    Just my 2 cents.

One of my parents told me Hey Jude was actually about heroin and that the song encouraged heroin use. I'm sure they were not the only person in their generation who felt that way or believed in the theory, even though it is blatantly wrong and ridiculous. Pre-internet baby boomer generation was more susceptible to conspiracies.

Well, I think I’m never going to the Emo subreddit again. Someone literally said it’s cop behavior to look down on folks going to this tour. It’s genuinely hurting my head trying to process the logic jumps.

They’re also convinced that the Pitchfork article is false? Along with those two accusations. But I remember at least one more anonymous account at that time.

Maybe it’s all explained in the evidence files. /s

But it’s kind of scary to see shared delusion at that scale.

FWIW- I by no means came here to pick a fight and was talked badly to and called names by users. I understand I asked a question in a the wrong forum but I genuinely didn’t know where to ask. One user shared your old post with your reasoning behind not having a dedicated forum (thanks to that person, a helpful and teachable moment), many others just name-called or wanted to get a jab in. I understand the sensitivity to this topic but I do think a little nuance would go a long way instead of calling people loser pedos because they want to deal with their own emotions related to music.

Most people do not care, never forget that. It's bad enough celebrating this shit, but the fact that its a bunch of older dorks wanting to relive their teenage years or whatever is pathetic. I'd say you might have better luck flooding venues with complaints or protest but when they can sell out shows what incentive is there for them?

I think it has more to do with, read the room. Or *at least* search before posting. Like seriously there's a thread for discussing tours. If you want to discuss BN tour news there's a place for that, you'll still probably be met with the same attitude, but tour news is in another place. The intent in discussing anything BN in here will always be what happened. Always.

You very clearly don't post here often (and your history confirms that). And the only reason I point that out is because if you did, you would understand why this is a trigger on this forum.

What are you looking to discuss though? What is the nuance that you want? What emotions are you dealing with? And why is this thread not the place for that? Things I think you should chew on.

If someone answered your question with a thread, would you then be going there to talk as a way to not be bothered by the people who are very clearly angry and frustrated and upset that this is happening?
