Urethane quietly booted Steve Caballero (the pro skateboarder) from the band because of his shitty ass politics, something I had no idea about until he started sharing MAGA shit and mourning Charlie Kirk. Good riddance
In my opinion, the labels ultimately are accountable for what happens to a particular artist for how much pressure they put on the artists . . . it's generally not a healthy or sustainable life-style to be under those contracts
Is there something specific you're referring to here? Because there are quite a lot of things I can think of that are absolutely solely the fault of the person saying or doing them.
Didn't Joel Madden date Hilary Duff when she was 16? Interesting that we are celebrating their 25 year anniversary on the homepage.
Jason's statement from the last time Pete Wentz/Joel Madden were brought up in the first Accountability thread. The pointed stuff is obviously more relevant to the discussion he was responding to at the time, but I wanted to quote it in full.
Brother I'm just passing along information as it seems to be brought up semi-regularly, no reason to get snarky with me lol
Here is an article from 2 years ago with some interesting excerpts and quotes... Hilary Duff admitted she's still friends with celebrity ex-boyfriend after their age gap caused huge controversy
i am very surprised that good charlotte is still super popular here tbh, speaking for just myself there is no way you can slice dating a 16 year old at 26 without it being very weird and creepy, regardless of it happening a while ago or there being bigger offenders in the scene
This Good Charlotte thread regarding their new album was created in Jun 16 2025 (merely 3 months and 11 days ago) and is already at 16 pages. Good Charlotte - Motel Du Cap (August 8, 2025) • forum.chorus.fm Also, the main Good Charlotte thread has at least 6 pages of posts dating from January 26th 2025 and onward Good Charlotte • Page 32 • forum.chorus.fm So after you go through that thread, you will now know A LOT of posters who are into good charlotte in 2025 edit: this applies if you have threads, posts, and conversations set per page at 25
It is in this moment, right now, that I have learned they have a new album lol And maybe this is just me being broken from the NFL thread, but 16 pages in 3 months is weak. That’s like a lunch break haha
Thank you for the heads up and help! I actually didn't know that was something I could adjust. I just changed my preferences for threads, posts, and conversations per page from 25 to 45
I don’t really care though, it was creepy for sure, no doubt there, I just genuinely think Good Charlotte are complete and total afterthoughts at this point lol
Being fair to Jason and what he had said a while ago on Good Charlotte, Jason and Chorus are in a tough spot here when it comes to navigating Good Charlotte. Per the article I posted yesterday, Hilary Duff is now 37. Not only did she not seem to take issue with being in a relationship with Joel Madden when she was 16 and he was 25, Hilary is actually still good friends with him to this day, at least going off of what they have both said in public through the media about their relationship. Unless Hilary Duff decides to take a different stance on her relationship with Joel Madden, it is fair to say that Chorus is in a socially acceptable position of promoting and advertising Good Charlotte, and will likely continue to doing so as it attracts/generates engagement for the website.
exactly. Which is why I was questioning it in the first place. Why bother promoting, even celebrating, creepy has beens?
Because this website probably has analytics that show that Good Charlotte still draws in engagement in a way that benefits the website. If they were total afterthoughts, they wouldn't get posted.
I feel everyone has their own personal line and that's understandable and acceptable, and don't misunderstand me, what happened is definitely creepy, but there's something about getting outraged on behalf of people that aren't outraged themselves that feels a little disconnected. If the people involved have no issue with what happened and it's not a behavioral pattern but a one time situation, then how much accountability is still needed? Asking this as an honest question.
