I haven’t seen any of the Dune movies and now considering reading the books first? Like I feel like that’s a good opportunity for me

I like to read so I am guessing yes??? Never really ventured into sci-fi/fantasy yet but have been thinking of doing it this year. Maybe Dune? Maybe Brandon Sanderson? Who knows

Isn't Dune Star Wars with more dirt or something?

I’d watch dune part one asap so you can see the second one in theaters then you can read the book, nerd.

I have the book but never read it. I think it’s just kinda dense and not an easy read from my understanding.

Dune is an incredible read, it's fkin mind blowing that it was written in the 60s. I don't like sci-fi that much (I'm a fantasy guy) but Dune has stuck with me for years.

As for your venture, may I direct you to the best thread on the site:The Fantasy/Sci-Fi Books Thread • forum.chorus.fm

  24. It’s not an easy read for people who are bad at reading

Reading sucks but I just finished watching the first movie ten minutes ago and it was ok. Definitely tees up the story for a legit second act.
