I don't really think that's fair. Everyone has been very respectful in this thread and all of the others from what I've seen.

How about we just don't mention anybody who's been banned in the past? Keep as much negativity out of here as possible. Let the past be the past.

We all know Thomas was an issue and it's been dealt with. Move on.

Aside from the Godmachine post, I've done nothing about talk football in this thread. Last time I'll mention CC or any of that stuff. It was truly an honest question.

 

Will expand on that when I'm at a computer but yeah I agree with you on that. I'm moreso referring to something else (and isn't anything you've done)

 

If it was me mocking Randall it wasn't mean to be mean, I understand that he works hard on his blogthing and if he wants to stick to it that's fine. I just felt like it's silly to all of the sudden back off after being one of the most consistent and knowledgeable posters on ap.

It's absolutely insane that he's pushing that much weight this early in the process. It'd be great for the sport if he were able to recover.

 

I was not taking a shot at you at all, so I hope that's not what you think. It needs to work both ways for this new community to work.

 

Here, I 'm just going to get this out of the way because it needs to be said now, rather than down the road when it's too late:

Let's make this community what Jason wants it to be, and that's a place where people feel free to discuss what they want to discuss and feel like they are part of a positive community. Let's not mock an individual just because they don't share your opinion. Let's not mock an individual who writes posts, long or short, on a team they like, just because you think said team sucks. Let's move on from individuals who were dealt with in the past and not bring them up. We just come here, and talk football. Disagreements are going to happen, it's human nature, but for whatever reason AP went too far beyond that and disagreements led to arguments, that more so than not, in turn led to personal attacks.

I really enjoyed the NFL thread for a long time, but quit going there because of what it turned into. The best part of being an early adopter here was seeing faces I didn't recognize from the sports forum come in here and discuss what they were scared to discuss on AP. I really don't want to see that happen here.

Yeah, I would rag on Randall for some things, but it was never too serious...and he knew that.

I do hope that he decides to post here eventually.

 

I agree totally, but people react to situations differently and being constantly ragged on, joke or not, isn't fun for everybody. Randall is really passionate about his long dissecting posts, so I'm sure getting a response of "tl;dr" all the time sucked on some level for him.

 

I mean I don't know how he really felt so I can't comment on it personally but I'm almost positive one of his last posts was about how he knew it was in good fun.

I got a warning for making an extremely light-hearted joke about someone who's not even on this website because they think they're too good for it? If we're going to be that excruciatingly conservative just ban me now, I'm not going to explore this site with constant fear. I honestly find this really insulting considering how much I was blatantly bullied, mocked and openly made fun of on the other site. There was a guy who flirt with people pretending to be a girl, stole a picture of me and passed it off as himself and no one did a damn thing about it when I reported it. Did all the people who have called me "Julez", mentioned my "soucez" or made other jokes get warnings too? They should, that's seriously way worse than the one post I made. I've only ever defended myself and never trolled like most have.

If it happens I'll catch you somewhere, someday folks. Love you all.

 

If you don't want to be on this site, and don't want to abide by what we are asking, I can ban you if you'd like to go that route. You got a warning because we're aiming for something better here, something more, and that kind of warning is our way of showing that and saying "let's rise above 'lol'" being a way of communication. How things were handled before is not going to be how they're handled now. New site, new rules and expectations. The first warning was just that, a "hey, let's not go down this path" — but then you made this post, and this post, which is effectively asking us, in public, to have to do something. That's against the code of conduct and rules we've laid out here. I'm asking you to please not do it this way or post in this manner. I've given you an actual warning point this time, please read through our rules and conduct policy, because I'd love to have you still around and posting, but if it's going to be like this, it may not work out.

 

So who wins in a battle royale, Hoyer, Fitzpatrick, or Ditka?
