This was great! Baselines straight out of Never Too Much here for sure, and a great collection of people involved here. It’s got that light and effortless quality that I love about Vandross’ music, just feels so easy. I can see her and Vandross followed this up in 1983, so will hopefully get to that, this week too.
I feel like I didn't realize how much he had a signature sound until I got to the second song and immediately flipped to the credits to look for his name.
Peacing out on 82 with 2 bangers; Big Science by Laurie Anderson blew me away. It’s unusual music; detatched and wry and abstract, but warmly. I can’t wait to hear this 100 more times And English Settlement, which is the 2nd best XTC album and one of the best albums ever. It’s the one where they toss the bag of tricks and let the music flow as it may, which winds up much deeper and memorable

I am listening to Hello Cruel World by Tall Dwarfs. It's really good, gotta check out their other stuff.
I've been listening to Music for Nine Post Cards by Hiroshi Yoshimura on repeat the past couple of days. Beautiful stuff.
i had a great/very calm time with Surround the other day, which i think Light In The Attic is reissuing or did reissue?
I've honestly never heard anything about this album, which is weird because people love the guy. How is it?
It's not bad. When it came out I loved it. If you are going to do some listening/deep dive I'd check out Look Sharp!, Night and Day , Body and Soul, Blaze of Glory, Laughter & Lust. I'd hazard a guess that most of h is fans would disagree with that choice... Big World is a studio album that he recorded in front of a live audience, the crowd was asked to hold their applause until given the "okay" to clap. Great record. For me, Look Sharp! is his best.
