Thinking about going to the theater to check this out this weekend. Riley Keough is a bonafide star and A24 has become one of my favorite production companies.

 

Oh boy, somehow I missed the twitter thread originally, and after reading it I am ready for the absolute chaos this movie will bring.

so glad this was made by Janicza and Jeremy and not J*m*s Fr*nc* who originally got the rights, with how it deals with race and cultural appropriation, as well as sex work
Taylour Paige and RIley Keough had such great chemistry, Nicolas Braun is a delight, and Colman Domingo was the perfect mix of menacing and alluring
It's a bummer that Jason Mitchell is in this but apparently it was filmed before that story came out

This was solid, but some parts of the original thread seems toned down.

Weird to read what basically became a loose script after seeing a movie.

 

yeah, I'm really glad I didn't know the story or read the tweets until after seeing the movie. Some parts were almost verbatim.

 

The Whoopi Goldberg line killed me.

 

This ruled, but I was surprised they left out the stuff she learned after she got him from Florida. Like not even text before the end credits.

 

Solid film, and loved the score. I definitely got some Spring Breakers vibes

 

that’s why I was confused by like I had to go research what happened to everyone after again which was weird

 

the ending made sense to me, it's an albeit fucked up road trip movie and then the road trip is over

 

Really enjoyed this. Felt a little similar to the sense of unease I get when viewing uncut gems, but on a much more subdued level.
