I know it's the result of streaming and all of that, but super frustrating as an "album listener". ZB is capable of writing a cohesive record that's not only a collection of songs. Not every idea needs to be shared with the world.
A little concerned about 25 songs/no features. The features really elevated Bar Scene for me/made it feel less samey.
Well, no features saves him from the inevitable messy fight with a guest artist/removal from the record.
€50~ pre-shipping for a double LP is insanity. There are only a handful of artists I could EVER justify that for.
"Who" we blame is Billboard and streaming services for "album-equivalent units" so that when someone listens to the full album, it counts as more than one album. When each of us listen to this full album, it will count as "2 and a half album sales" and if we listen to the acoustic album the same week, well we all just clocked "5 album sales" for him
how quick do you think Taylor will announce new remixes or variants next week to try and keep the #1? I remember last time around she realllly went all in during his release week
The acoustic version honestly gives me some hope that the record proper actually takes some sonic chances this time around, he really needs to expand his sound, feels a little like he’s hedging out the gate though.
Ah well this is great so far. Made it to Bad News, and it’s timely as can be. Checking out the rest in the morning.
Got through the first half or so , will finish at work tomorrow but just had to share that god damn Cannonball is great.
Made it through Bad News on my drive to the gym. He’s knocking it out of the park. Though, it almost seems like all the odd numbered tracks and even numbered tracks are different albums (thematically the same) zippered together. Definitely like the sonic changes he’s exploring on the odd tracks.
