want to see him but sheesh the prices for this are insane even though it doesn't look to be selling well, more than i spent on metallica and oasis combined
Fingers crossed for a bit more editing and keeping some stuff for an EP or deluxe instead of a really long album again. (Doubtful)
I was starting to think it was a coin toss on whether or not this album would actually come out this week. Excited to hear it, whatever it is.
Didn't he release like, 6 or 7 songs last year? Never as an official EP, but enough for one. My guess is none of those will appear on the album.
i thought the same thing. Was actually searching this morning to see if it had been delayed because there's barely been any promo.
I have a playlist of I think... 13(??) songs he's released since the last album as singles or EP, he never stops
That's so funny because most of the playlist I referred to, I find pretty unremarkable. That's being said, even the last album, my preferred version is about 5-8 songs shorter
I still listen to Bar Scene regularly. love the whole thing. there was very little promo for that one either. he released Pink Skies in May and then the album 4th of July. this feels like a quieter rollout but, he also appears to be very busy lately.
Just a lot of filler on TGABS imo. I don't necessarily dislike any of the songs, but the 9 songs below are the ones I go back to the most. Oak Island (one of his better songs ever) Northern Thunder The Way Back Bass Boat Towers Boons Pink Skies Bathwater 28
really like 8 ball and the song he did with kings of leon but can barely remember anything else since the self-titled
lol I think you mean Nine Ball? And that Boys of Faith EP, imo, is the best thing he's ever put out, which is why I think ultimately TGABS was a disappointment for me because I was hoping he'd expand on the BOF sound. I think he released some pretty strong songs post-TGABS including Bowery (w/ KOL) Madeline, High Road, Blue Jean Baby, River Washed Hair and A Song For You.
Yeah I forgot this one, it’s great part of the issue with the 20+ song albums is that the stand alone tracks tend to stick out in my memory more
There's stuff I love on all of his albums, but they are so interminable that I don't go back to them that often. I really loved Bar Scene in the moment, but I did a 2024 re-rank as part of my EOTY list, and I ended up booting it out of the top 10 because I probably only listened to it 1-2 times in 2025.
