I don’t even know what it means so it doesn’t bother me much.

 

I have never been a country guy my whole life but I have done nothing but listen to ZB literally the whole week.

 

The track list almost put me off this, because I’m just into long albums, but this keeps me interested until about track 19/20.

Enjoying this a lot, and it keeps growing on me. Appetite, Say Why, Santa Fe, South & Pine, and Plastic Cigarette are my favourites so far. I liked Bad News too, ‘cause the sentiment seems quite unique for my limited exposure to country, but I’d need to properly read through the lyrics.

 

So...this is the first show of the tour. Just three weeks away. My show is May 9 and looks pretty similar (as do most shows in March, April, May). I don't think downgrading venues is an option, but I could see a situation where the stage set-up totally changes and they close off 25/30% of the stadium.

 

Yowza. I wonder if the maga crowd turned on him super hard ?

 

I think this album is always good and often great, after a few listens I think I could really start honing in on a condensed GREAT album at about half the length, but what else is new. I think the run of songs back-to-back of Santa Fe, Skin, Dry Deserts, Bad News and South and Pine is a really special run of songs, the kind of songs that made me become a fan in the first place, great stuff.

 

I think the problem is to make the “great” album you have to cut several “good” songs

 

Absolutely, which is kinda funny because he had a whole run of singles ahead of this album which I would definitely consider being in that bucket, but STILL so many more songs to put on the album. He would benefit from releasing 12-song albums then the rest on an EP or deluxe following, but I get that he doesn't want to so whatever. Whatever he wants to do he'll do and we'll just sit here thinking about what could have been, haha

 

I haven’t come back to this I did enjoy a lot of songs but there was also so much filler. A sleek 12 song album would be great.

I listened to it like 3 times and Santa Fe is the only song I remember at all. I like it overall but it didn’t stick.

 

Obsession with resequencing records is one of the weirder things on this website

 

I don't think you are referring to me, but I don't think it's that crazy to think a 25-song album could be cut down to make a better piece of art

 

I’m not. I understand the impulse for this album but it’s something people do in threads for short albums too lol. He needs an editor who knows better than he does on making a more digestible album. I don’t think anyone on this site qualifies for that. It just reads like “I know better than the artist what they should be putting out themselves.” You don’t.

 

Whole album is really good. No cuts needed.

 

I want all the songs. Always. Whether it's a 25 song album or multiple albums or a deluxe, I don't really care. Just give me all the songs.

you’re right, this album should be four times as long

 

The acoustic album isn't doing much for me, it's kinda interesting to hear the more upbeat ones stripped back but overall these tracks don't have the same emotional feeling to them as the main album

 

First night of the tour is tonight and there were/are still tons of unsold tickets. On Reddit, people were saying ticketholders were getting emailed this morning that their upper level tickets were being moved to the first level and the top decks were being closed off.

 

Last night’s setlist kicks ass.
