    Hollywood Reporter:

Zach Braff has signed on for the Scrubs update that’s in development at ABC.

Braff will reprise his role from the 2001-10 series as John, aka J.D., the narrator and central character for most of the show’s first run. ABC confirmed it was developing a Scrubs reboot in December, after creator Bill Lawrence, Braff and other members of the cast had for years said they’d like to reunite.

After season 9 I'm pretty skeptical but if this can be anywhere near as good as the early seasons I'd be pumped.

My fear is that this becomes a caricature of the original show in that they write what they think fans want to see - instead of making a show that is a continuation of the previous show

I can absolutely see that being the case but I'm gonna choose to be optimistic Scrubs is one of my favorite sitcoms

It was a good, fun show. But a good reboot is so tough. Not a dig at the show itself but in general; how do we not have any more new ideas. So many reboots and sequels lately

    England.

One of the best. Therefore I’m equal parts excited and apprehensive. Not sure it’s needed but obviously I’m going to watch it.

Making this good is probably a near impossible task. I'll check it out at least.

  9. I'd love for this to be great. However, even if they sign Faison, Chalke, Reyes, McGinley, and Flynn (not sure if Ken Jenkins is likely to return at this point), Lawrence isn't show-running. That's a big part of the tone missing from the day-to-day.

After Season 9 and Alex Inc., I'm convinced that Braff can't carry the show. Having Lawrence and his core writing team is crucial to a successful return of Scrubs. I'm keeping my expectations low, but would love to be surprised.

Related: Rewatching Frasier recently I can't believe they moved forward with that reboot having basically just Kelsey Grammer reprising his role. The best part of Frasier was never Frasier.

    Might be Spider-Man...

I'm not ready for him to be the crotchety vet, who's angry at the world because it's been 25 years, and he's now Cox.

  15. And Cox is even angrier at the world because now he’s Kelso?

I'm in love with the ordinary

This should be fun. Currently rewatching Scrubs for the first time since it ended because my 16 year old has never seen it before. Forgot how much of a fun show it is. Glad to hear we can look forward to a continuation!!
