Start of a new album cycle? New single. Lacks a bit of the edge that I liked about the massive first singles from the last two records but it's still a great track.
Looks like a new EP dropping tomorrow https://rateyourmusic.com/release/ep/yves-tumor/the-asymptotical-world-ep/
01. Jackie (02:56) 02. Crushed Velvet (03:17) 03. Secrecy Is Incredibly Important To The Both of Them (03:52) 04. Tuck (feat. Naked) (02:42) 05. ...And Loyalty Is A Nuisance Child (02:13) 06. Katrina (03:19) Total length: 18:19
Tuck is probably the best track on there. It's the only one that calls back to his more experimental style I love. The rest is ok, but don't see myself going back to it. Bit too straightforward.
love this EP, havent gotten much into them besides a few tracks here and there. planning on diving into the last two full lengths.
I like the new EP and their last record. First one is my fave though. But their best track is Limerence IMO. Still haven't topped that one yet for me.
First time I heard it I swear I was almost in tears. It felt like a dream I've had before. It unfortunately doesn't sound like anything else they've done since. I hope they make some more ambient-leaning tracks like that in the future.
If you haven’t heard it, their Experiencing the Deposits of Faith album is definitely the closest full length project has come to capturing the spirit of that track. Unfortunately not on streaming.
