First, loved the return of Steve Agee, that whole scene had me dying Second, a few strange things that jumped out at me: am I the only that thought the conclusion with Gretchen and her therapist was kinda weird? Like, I felt like the praise Gretchen received was a little unwarranted considering we didn't see a single completely positive interaction between the two of them all season. I get that we can fill in the blanks but it would've been nice to see a little more of that process. Secondly, Becca turning on Paul like that seemed to come out of left field. Wouldn't necessarily call it uncharacteristic, but I certainly didn't expect it. Overall, I think this was pretty easily the best season yet. The comedy/drama balance is nearly mastered and I feel like the storytelling was better than it has ever been as well. Lastly, TANCRED!!!
I love that Paul wears all black, including his glasses frames, after divorcing Lindsay. I can't wait for the next season, I need to know what happens. I can see why Becca was a dick to Paul. She only tolerated him because he was family, now she doesn't have to.
I think Becca has always been the worst, or Lindsay, imagine their parents having to raise both of them
Second last episode was prob one of my favourites of the series. The last scene of the finale killed me. Man, what the fuck Jimmy?
The argument with Gretchen and Jimmy about how they can't both be broken at the same time is maybe my favorite scene of the series.
Fantastic end to a great season. Seems like this show always needs a few episodes to really kick into gear, and then it just kills it all the way through to the end.
I started watching Westworld and the Lee Sizemore character is basically Jimmy lol, he even steals booze!
Posting to subscribe, wish I could read through the whole thread right now. Have a couple of episodes left in Season 2. This show gives me the same shitty feeling from time to time that Bojack Horseman does really well.
Honestly anytime I feel sick/down/injured, I'll just rewatch a ton of episodes. It's such a comfort. I've probably watched the first two seasons 10 times
Still laugh out loud when I remember the jokes. Off the top of my head: Poor Man's Isla Fisher Daniel Craig looks like and adult baby I am frightened by puzzles and general trickery New phone, who dis? The entire Peaky Blinders skit Jimmy's erotic diary And finally, ben folds
If they continue the trend of having at least one episode not featuring the main cast, I really hope it's about Sam. Him and his crew are so great
I probably sound like a fanboy but the actor that plays Sam looks and acts so much like Donald Glover that I find it kind of distracting Definitely a hilarious character though
Finished up season three. Loved it, but the last scene didn't hit for me. Jimmy bailing immediately after proposing seemed kind of forced. It could have had the same impact if you just showed him with a "oh shit what did I do" face at after Gretchen gives her family speech. I might come around to it depending on how they start the next season. But if they just do something like Gretchen storming through the door saying "What the fuck Jimmy?! You left me!?" and then Jimmy just being like "Oh yea that..." and then making up some excuse it'll be pretty lame.
