It kind of is time travel in a way. Some of the most fascinating films are really old films that were also period films, or set in their own future. It is a reflection of a reflection.
Wow, I didn't know they had all those restorations. I should take a look at some of those on your list.

I loved Miami Vice, but it’s amazing how bad Gong Li is in that film, despite being one of the best actors of the 20th Century when acting in Chinese. She’s the best thing in pretty much every film she’s in, apart from this.
Speaking of Mann I rewatched black hat a few months ago and it’s way better than I remember. Good movie.
First Reformed is the kind of movie where the decisions made were so bold that even when I was unsure about them, it just left me with so much to chew on. I'm excited to revisit it. I wish I liked Master Gardener more than I did. It was interesting, but definitely a bit of a step down.
Schrader's book, Transcendental Style in Film, is well worth a read if you like First Reformed and want to take a deep dive on that style.
Given how excellent your list is, I definitely should prioritize these ones I haven't seen. I've actually never heard of Pale Flower, somehow.
