They're incredible! They used to play in Melbourne just about every week but not so much these days. I'd also recommend Vol. II. They are currently working on Vol. III
Currently trying to put my top 200 in some semblance of order and Jesus Christ I think I might go insane.

I had one album different and then had them in order, obviously, which these weren’t. But for the most part, my thoughts haven’t changed a ton.
Kanye West: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy This one shows just how much can change in 10 years. But at the start of the decade Kanye was on a different level, and this album is still a masterpiece. The Menzingers: On the Impossible Past Over the course of the decade this has gone from "maybe my favourite album of the year" to one of my absolute favourite albums of all time. Exactly what I want from music as an AP.net kid all grown up. The Wonder Years: Suburbia I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing As the 2010s started I thought I was done with pop punk, even if looking back I have no affinity for the "more hip" music I was trying to get into like Animal Collective etc. The Upsides made me realise there was still a lot of life left for the genre and this album has gradually overtaken it as the band's opus (no mean feat given they have realeased five straight killer records). Father John Misty: I Love You, Honeybear My favourite album of the decade lyrically speaking, so entertaining, amusing and yet heartfelt. I listened to this a lot around the time of my wedding and it was perfect to soundtrack that wonderful time in my life. The Hotelier: Home Like NoPlace Is There I hadn't kept up with emo for years but this album really kick started my interest in more modern emo bands, which I feel are true gatekeepers of underground rock these days, a bit like hardcore bands were in the 1980s. Album has nine songs and at least five are among my favourites of the decade. Foxing: Nearer My God In some ways this feels like the masterpiece that aforementioned emo scene was building up to (if TWIABP's Harmelessness doesn't quite count). So dynamic, expansive and versatile. Kendrick Lamar: Good Kid M.A.A.D. City To Pimp A Butterfly will likely receive all the album of the decade accolades, and is deserving to be sure, but this is the album that got so many of us into Kendrick and is still my go-to record of his. Amazing storytelling and more energy than it seems at first. The Horrible Crowes: Elsie I consider this the first Brian Fallon solo album, and certainly still the best. Creates a mood like few albums can. I'd kill for a follow-up. Blood Loss is still just stunning. (I reserve the final two spots until the decade actually ends) (Also if I hadn't limited the list to one album per artist then TWY, Hotelier and Menzingers would all have multiple entries)
Seems unlikely (and not advocating some coordinated effort) but it would be amazing if we could get a couple of the biggest 'scene' albums onto this list -- Home Like NoPlace Is There could be an outside chance...
Noah’s Lover is the one that’s knocking at the door for me. (Man, that’s a special project.) But at this point, I don’t know which of mine I could remove for it.
I probably know my top 4 right now and could put together a rough top 10, but I want more time to sit with it
TPAB is a genuine career and decade defining record, it’s always been curious to me how people gravitate towards GKMC.
Yeah TPAB is "better" but GKMC is more enjoyable to listen to for me, and since it's still brilliant in its own right, it gets the nod.
Who is going to go through all these and tally the "votes" so we can see which albums have made the most top 10s for Chorus members? I shall reward them with stranger internet praise
A top 10 each year is hard enough, let alone a decade. Feel like a top 10 wouldn't give justice to a lot of albums that I adore. Whatever I'll do it anyway The Hotelier - Goodness Against Me! - Transgender Dysphoria Blues The Menzingers - On The Impossible past itoldyouiwouldeatyou - Oh Dearism Nervus - Everything Dies Vince Staples - Summertime '06 Creeper - Eternity, In Your Arms Renounced - Theories of Despair Proper. - I Spent the Winter Writing Songs About Getting Better Venom Prison - Animus
