So with Roger Moore passing away today, who is your favorite actor that has played James Bond?

I would think it starts with Roger Moore or Sean Connery, IMO, since both of them were the ones that portrayed him the most (I think).

Sean (old) vs Roger (younger) is the first comparison. Did you like both perhaps - depending on which movie.....

Did you see them in the movies, or on TV, as well.

    and go.......... :)

Tweeted out by his family, today, I believe it said he had cancer. He was out of hte limelight a bit, hasn't he been?

  4. Sean Connery is the correct answer.

Damn I had no idea Roger Moore died. Good thing I saw that before I started answering. I'll just say he was my least favorite of the group.

I think I'd have to go with Connery but there are so many different angles one can approach this question from: Best actor to play Bond; Best at being Bond; Bond actor that starred in the best films; Bond actor that starred in the films that best represented the Bond character/universe; etc.

RIP Roger Moore. Pierce is probably my favorite bond, but The Spy Who Loved Me is definitely one of my favorites in the franchise.

Well I know who isn't my favorite and that is definitely Pierce Brosnan, now yes he had a troublesome time getting the role with contract issues and clashes in filming stopping him from taking the role since the 80s but the fact is only two of his films are good and Die Another Day is so abysmal I only ever watch it now out of curiosity and to laugh at its awfulness. Roger Moore had three strong efforts (Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only) but his other four were average at best. In my ideal version of the James Bond series George Lazenby continued on as Bond after the magnificent On Her Majesty's Secret Service and we got the broken, vengeful and emotional Bond as a result of the ending of that film and got a direct sequel akin to Casino Royale more than three decades earlier but sadly we didn't so even though his one entry is a top ten favorite it is only the one film at the end of the day. I would say Sean Connery and Daniel Craig are the most even since both have had a poorly received film (though Diamonds Are Forever is infinitely worse than Quantum of Solace) but you simply cannot beat what Goldfinger did as it put in place all the things the Bond series became known for while also being utterly brilliant. If Daniel Craig has another film as good as Skyfall and Spectre while finishing off what happened in the previous film in a genuinely great way then he just might tip the scales in his favour since Casino Royale is also great. I feel if Timothy Dalton had been given the role earlier combined with what he did with the role he would easily be third but considering what actually happened they go like this -

    1. Sean Connery
    2. Daniel Craig
    3. Roger Moore
    4. Timothy Dalton
    5. George Lazenby
    6. Pierce Brosnan

Pierce is my Bond. Goldeneye introduced me to the character and when I think of Bond, I think of Brosnan.

But I kind of love Moore. Some of his are my least favorite Bond movies, but I love the comedic aspect he brought to the franchise.

George is my least -- but his movie is top three for me.

    Dalton is lower tier too.

    1. Moore
    2. Craig
    3. Connery
    4. Brosnan
    5. Dalton
    6. Lazenby
