I don't know about that. My giant eagle removed half of their self checkout lines. The Khuns by me only has 4 now and they're closed half the time I'm there. If theft is costing them more than underpaying a cashier, they'll get rid of them
A lot have closed here because the city just passed an ordinance that requires stores to have at least one employee for every three self-checkout stations, limits self-checkout to 15 items or less per customer, and prohibits the purchase of locked items or those requiring ID at self-checkout kiosks.
no real good non-luxury shopping grocery stores near me. we are too far north for these publix locations to be good and harris teeter has always been mid. i know the whole foods bit is whole paycheck but it feels that way at fresh market and sprouts too. apparently we are getting wegmans soon so ill check that out i guess
They are very much real lol. There are a lot of them here in SoCal. But I think they’re only in like, 20 states?
It's funny because I've been thinking that about all of the stores you guys mentioned (Hannaford, Market Basket, Shaw's, Khuns, Fresh Market, Harris Teeter, Giant Eagle) but Sprouts I actually know of.
Apparently at Fresh Market they have large freshly made pizzas that are usually $10 a piece, but on Instacart they're always half off. When I was visiting my parents last week my dad ordered 3 large pizzas for just $15.
I actually know that one from childhood, but I think they all shut down around here like 25 years ago. edit: Actually, you got me. Never heard of Shop N Save. I was thinking of Sack N Save.
They are still Albertson’s over here. Albertson’s was my family’s go-to growing up but now they’re really not worth it
I went to one once when I was a kid visiting my grandma in South Carolina. The name always stuck out to me
If I worked at a Piggly Wiggly I think that mascot would haunt my dreams There is such thing as too much branding
